Abstract Spirits

The summer after covid we invited musically inclined friends over to "jam" outside. This led to me learning to play upright bass and practicing jazz each week with friends. We decided to try a new cocktail each time we got together with dinner. The fun experiences and flavors soon inspired a new series of abstract paintings about the cocktails.

I love that the paintings don’t just stand for the cocktail they represent, but for the fun times with friends and family that go with them. I tried to inject each piece with the life and sensations that I felt when enjoying them.
